5.4 Users
Flexible Delivery. The NIG will be made to cater for
various delivery mechanisms. Therefore, users will not be bound to
work with a single delivery mechanism (and in some cases, a single location).
Access To All Information Types. The full range of information types, from very small packets of transactional and textual data to large-size multimedia information and digital video will be supported by the completed NIG.
Single Access Provider. Users will not need to subscribe and maintain business relationships with several IPs and gain access to all available information even if a user needs to use a particular type of information only once in his or her lifetime.
Being Networked. The NIG will present a viable and wide-ranging platform for the general public to be networked with the local and global Information Superhighway.
