6.1 Technology
The NIG will be an infrastructure that is highly based on technology.
The various types of technology it employs can be grouped into three major
types, and these are converging at a rapid pace whilst sharing Electronics
and Optics as common technological factors.

Telecommunications Technology

Broadcasting and Audio / Video Technology
At this point in time, the best technology strategy for the NIG is not
to define or have any set preferences for specific technology types, but
to define the applications that are suitable and acceptable to the society
based on available current technology, and future technology as they are
developed and become economically viable to use.
