6. Implementation

Like other types of infrastructure, the NIG should be implemented in a phased and sustainable manner. Although a detailed study is required to determine the actual implementation plan, some apparent observations are made.

As stated in The NIG Concept, the NIG in its final form must be able to support all types of current and future delivery mechanisms, current and future information types, in order to satisfy the needs of users. Figure 6-1 below illustrates the comprehensive targeted scope of NIG services.
